WID GA GIRLS for STEM PROGRAM
The core mission of WID’s STEM program is to provide Elementary Schools girls, 4th and 5th graders with access to projects and programs that can peek their interest in Science, Technology, Education and Mathematics, sustain that interest and carry them towards careers in one of these fields hopefully achieving success in their areas of interest while supporting the Federal Government.

Program Name: WID GA Girls for STEM
School:  The girls at Milford Elementary School, in south cobb county really could benefit from WID GA’s Girls for STEM Program. The program will be sponsored by Becky Ransom, Jzsanettae Webster and Principal, Michelle Pearce.
Program Duration: July 2016 to May 2017
Program Content: Robotics program for rising 3rd graders to 5th graders. Ms. Jzsanettae will identify girls that are not part of the TAG Program. Estimated attendance is around 20 girls. The program will be scheduled from 1:15 to 2:00 every Friday. The program would cover 30+ weeks of the school year. Parents to be advised about the program during the meet and greet and open house in July. The program will include a field trip to KSU Marietta Campus. Schedule a year end social to reward students that performed well and encourage and educate parents for next year’s program. Provide the girls with Tee Shirts, Binders, and supplies etc.

Program Update:
Happy to announce that the WID GA STEM for Girls at Milford Elementary School started on the 9th September 2017 and the Robotics Program will continue for the rest of the school year. 13 girls are going to participate and the teacher Ms. Webster is really excited about this program.
 
SJ Technologies sponsored the T-Shirts for the girls and the Field Trip scheduled for May 12th. The 4th/5th grade girls will be visiting the Marietta campus Mechatronics Department of KSU on Friday, May 12th. The girls will be treated to lunch at Stringers a dining Hall on campus.

We are also planning a year a Social to recognize and awards the girls that participated in the program.  Everyone is invited and stay tuned for updates.
